Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: Wise construction practices have long been associated with the recycling and reusing of construction materials. Contractors have been trying to maximize the economic advantages of Construction Waste Management. Communities have also witnessed the benefits of this practice. Construction waste recycling involves the separation and recycling of recoverable waste materials generated during construction and remodeling. These recoverable materials are easily found in new material scraps, old materials and debris. In this project, different methods of construction waste recycling and management will be explored. First, the focus would be on the management of Construction and Demolition waste. The waste management systems in some countries would then be studied to provide a better picture of the various techniques that can be adopted in different environments. Finally, the different types of waste material and their usefulness would be explored.
