dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research was to come up with a three-dimensional personalized face mask that is literally for use in medical facilities by patients. This was therefore achieved through scanning the face of the person whose mask is being prepared, and the resulting image sent in for exploration. To complete the analysis, a combination of data parameterization and contact pressure estimation using a finite element analysis method was utilized. This method was used to provide a precise and time-saving working of the face-mask touching base pressure. The whole process contributes to a superb design of a personalized face mask, which must have a satisfactory fit and be comfortable for its users in order to ensure the users' health, safety, and satisfaction. The materials used in create a secure and comfortable mask, which does not slip in any way include polypropylene non-woven mask material for the outer side of the mask, film bagging in the outside to allow for printing of the personalized color to enhance the matching of the face with the mask and some elastic code to hold it with the patient's ear. The 3D personalized mask also achieved the concept of being invisible since it captured the shape of the face hence showing out the nose and mouth. It was also personalized with the user’s skin color which made it achieve scanning by face recognition technology.en_US
