Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: The present research is to investigate the effects of Reynolds number (Re) on gas-phase turbulence modulation at different solids concentration. Deductions from an upward gas-solids flow in a circulating fluidized bed are to be made by assessing data collected from pressure drop measurements and velocity profiles from the PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry). Previous works on the effect of particle properties at constant Reynolds number have been studied extensively. The aim in this experiment is to examine the relationship of Reynolds number with gas-phase turbulence modulation by varying particle concentration.
