Web-based collaborative working environment : repository control panel

Abstract

The Cooffice Online Repository is a place where multiple users can edit the same document via the Internet and it makes the real-time update for all participants to see. In this project, a repository management software application is proposed to manage users and communicate with users.

In order to develop a comprehensive and user-friendly repository management software application, some research has been done on similar software packages available in the market. The strengths and weaknesses were analyzed and taken into consideration in the design of the software.

With the knowledge and keeping the objective in mind, the Repository Control Panel is designed with the capabilities of user management and communication. It allows the administrator to view the online users, add a new user, edit user’s group, delete users, ban user, ban IP and send message to users by email.

Although the basic requirements were met, additional features could be added to extend the capabilities of the program. Some recommendations include administrator rank, sending short message and chatting with online user.
