Abstract: This study focuses on the design of conformal reconfigurable intelligent sur- faces (RISs) for the future 6G communication systems. The conformal RIS can be affixed to any geometric surface, thereby enhancing communication perfor- mance in urban landscapes without the need for additional base stations. The study commences with the design of appropriate unit elements, progresses to the creation of the planar RIS, and culminates in the development of conformal RISs with cylindrical and spherical geometries. All the 12 × 12 RISs designed can achieve various desired main lobe directions, as validated by the ANSYS High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS).
