Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/172700 | Abstract: | The climate as we know it has changed and will continue to change, due to our continued consumption of fossil fuels. This has resulted in citizens all around the globe being increasingly being impacted by the changing climate as the likelihood, duration and intensity of heatwaves and floods has increased. Companies and building owners have taken notice as these events carries increasingly higher risks in damage to infrastructure, equipment, and the business continuity. Thus, there are increasingly taking steps to minimize their impact on the environment and assist in ensuring business continuity when these events were to occur. This includes integrating renewable energy generation systems and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) into the designs of new constructions and retrofitting them into existing buildings. Integrating these systems into buildings presents issues on how to manage the flow of energy between ESS, renewable energy generation systems and the loads in the building. Thus, this report aims to investigate the methods that we can utilize to manage the flow of energy through the building system through charging and discharging of ESS. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/172700 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
