Abstract: The ASEAN-Australia Special Commemorative Summit in Melbourne in March 2024 marks 50 years of dialogue relations and follows the Sydney meeting in March 2018 where leaders reaffirmed their commitment to ASEAN centrality and regional cooperation. Cooperation, especially on security and the economy, is key to countering pressure from outside the bloc.
