Abstract: This paper explains aims to uncover the reasons behind the culling of stray dogs in postcolonial Singapore. Little work has been done to discuss the implications of the culling of stray dogs. By looking at primary sources, this paper examines how stray dog culling shifted over time. This paper links with other scholarly sources that discuss about animals and how they parallel each other. From this paper, we posit that state development fundamentally changed the way Singaporeans viewed stray dogs.
