In this paper, we establish two upper bounds on the number of nonzero weights of a linear code with prescribed automorphism. Our bounds are applicable for almost all linear codes and tighter than previously known bounds. Examples confirm that our bounds are sharp on numerous occasions. In addition, we give an infinite family of linear codes that attain our bounds with equality. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/174998 | ISSN: | 0018-9448 | DOI: | 10.1109/TIT.2023.3347701 | Schools: | School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences | Organisations: | Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics | Departments: | Division of Mathematical Sciences | Rights: | © 2023 IEEE.
