Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is a framework in which all things have a representation and a presence in the Internet. Its goal is to create new applications and services that connect both the virtual and physical worlds, using machine-to-machine (M2M) connections as the foundation for interactions between objects and applications running on the cloud. Rapid advances in Internet of Things (IoT) technology have paved the way for smarter and more efficient home automation systems, which are already gaining popularity in Singapore. This report outlines the development of a comprehensive home automation system that integrates various smart IoT devices and sensors to enhance the comfort, security, and energy efficiency of a household. The system is designed to be user-friendly, scalable, and adaptable to the needs of modern homeowners. The primary objective of this project is to create a home automation system capable of remotely controlling and monitoring appliances, security devices, lighting, and environmental conditions. To meet these objectives, a wide range of IoT devices, wireless communication protocols, open-source platforms, and cloud-based services were utilized.
