Kopi VR - A VR game for health care. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/175391 | Project: | SCSE23-0640 | Abstract: | Risk of cognitive health decline increases with a sedentary lifestyle. Elderly are at high risk due to their low cognitive-activity lifestyle. This project aims to engage and challenge individuals to mitigate and even improve their cognitive skills through the use of Virtual Reality (VR). This report documents the development of Kopi VR, a project centered around serving Kopi drinks. It provides an introduction to the background and purpose for the project. It also includes a comprehensive breakdown of the implementation of the game’s core mechanics, control system and other features. The game is developed for the Oculus Quest 2 using the Unity game engine. User play data is captured within the game itself using an analysis plugin tool called Cognitive 3D. Multiple user test sessions were carried out to receive feedback on the development as well as to assess whether Kopi VR helped players to gauge and understand their cognitive sense through an immersive nostalgic environment. However, correctly interpreting and extracting insights from the cognitive data would require collaborative research efforts from faculty students or professionals from the psychology or medical department. The project can be scaled for further development, including optimizations to capturing key metric data and delivering a scoring system for players. The limitless potential for VR intervention opens the door to many possibilities. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/175391 | Schools: | School of Computer Science and Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
