This study aims to bridge that gap and investigate how employee engagement can be improved in a virtual environment setting. This study could enhance the body of literature on the effects of virtual engagement in the workplace on project execution, as well as proposed methods to improve employee engagement in a virtual environment to achieve project success. The research methodology includes a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods from surveys and interviews. The study is done through a systematic literature review of virtual teams and employee engagement as well as a case study analysis. The results showed a negative correlation between virtuality of work environment and employee engagement. The study’s implications and applications were discussed, including its limitations and suggestions for future research. The information obtained through this research could enhance the body of literature on the effects of virtual engagement in the workplace on project execution, as well as propose different methods to help improve employee engagement in a virtual environment to improve organizational culture and achieve project success. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/176602 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
