Nostalgia: rose tinted glasses

Abstract

Nostalgia, defined as a feeling of longing for the past, has intrigued people for ages. This feeling has always been very apparent and present in my life and many others, though most people do not seem to question or understand why this emotion exists. My project, titled Nostalgia: Rose Tinted Glasses, aims to investigate and explain why this feeling exists, how to better comprehend the nature of nostalgia, while documenting my own experiences with it. This project is inherently self-indulgent both visually and conceptually, and serves solely as a personal endeavour of my own experiences with nostalgia. However, it may resonate with many others especially in my age group since nostalgia is a universal emotion that transcends time, language, and culture.
