Abstract: As demand for sustainable transportation solutions increases, Electric vehicles (EVs) have garnered significant attention. For example, Singapore government has set an ambitious target to phase out the internal combustion engine vehicle by 2040 (Ministry of Transport, 2022). One can envision that the charging demand for the electric mobility system in the future to be enormous. With more charging infrastructure being built in Singapore, there will be rising concerns regarding accessibility and availability of the fixed charging facilities. Some of the EV drivers may not have sufficient time to find a fixed charging and waiting for full recharging of the EVs. As such, mobile charging service, offered by an individual equipped with charging facilities can be provided to recharge an EV parked at any parking space. More specifically, we proposed the use of crowdsourcing business model to provide mobile charging services for EVs as a potential solution, leveraging community participation to address the charging accessibility. This study investigates user’s willingness to utilise such service through an online survey conducted among Singaporean drivers and people with a valid Singapore driving license. The survey administered aimed to understand the respondent’s preference and concerns regarding crowdsourced mobile charging services. Key factors explored include perceived convenience, pricing, financial incentives and environmental impact. This study contributes valuable insights into the potential of crowdsourcing mobile charging services for EVs. By understanding user’s attitudes and preferences, it will help in the development of future initiatives aimed at promoting EV adoption and mitigating charging related barriers.
