Abstract: Abstract Mixer is an essential part of wireless communication systems. Modern wireless communication systems demand stringent dyanmaric range requirement. The dynamic range of a receiver is often limited by the first downconversion mixer. Much work has also gone into developing highly integrated receivers in CMOS that minimize the number of off-chip components. In this project, Image reject downconverter design involves the design and implementation of current driven passive mixer and complex filter. The designs are implemented with 1.8V power supply using CSM CMOS 0.18um process. Firstly, the design of existing receiver architecture and various types of mixer will be focused to study and the investigation of different topology is suitable to use in the project. Seondly, the circuit designing and selection of correct components parameters will be discussed. Simulation of circuit in terms of noise analysis, stability analysis, AC analysis and more is carried out and. Lastly, analysis of simulation result and corrective action is taken to make the circuit workable and stable. Last but not least, the report reveals possible future works that can be carried out to achieve better design and performance for image reject downconverter.
