Abstract: Denise Bernot's Dictionnaire birman-francais (DBF) is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious Burmese dictionary projects ever undertaken. In respect of number of entries it takes second place only to the great dictionary of Stewart et al, and that is far from complete and is unlikely to be continued beyond the letter la.
