The rhetorical use of the Tibetan ergative. The ergative marker is a case particle formally identical to the instrumental. but functionally distinct from it. Besides its semantic and syntactic functions the ergative also has a rhetorical effect that will be examined below. First we will consider the standard function. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/179230 | ISSN: | 0731-3500 | DOI: | 10.32655/LTBA.14.1.04 | Organisations: | University of Paris III and INALCO | Rights: | © 1991 The Editor(s).
