Abstract: Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technologies utilize electromagnetic fields or radio-frequency signals to transmit electrical energy through air or other mediums. However, the high-power output frequently induces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise, which can significantly impact the performance of nearby electronic devices and reduce overall system efficiency. To effectively mitigate these disturbances, this thesis proposes employing Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) to create active shielding panels customized for specific frequency bands. We have developed an optimized Jerusalem Cross Frequency Selective Surface (JC-FSS) unit structure to minimize the size of shielding panels, particularly effective at the resonance frequency of 13.56MHz. Using HFSS simulation software, we have designed 2D and 3D WPT systems operating at this frequency, integrating FSS active shielding panels to evaluate their performance in practical applications. Additionally, this study comprehensively compares FSS active shielding technology with traditional passive shielding methods, such as ferrite and aluminum panels. Simulation results demonstrate that FSS shielding panels effectively prevent electromagnetic radiation leakage at the specified frequency, significantly enhancing the quality factor and overall performance of wireless charging systems compared to traditional shielding methods.
