Abstract: Ultrasound is widely used in healthcare, fingerprinting and sensor nodes. Ultrasound imaging is considered a non-invasive or minimally invasive method for clinic usage. The micro-electromechanical system technology boosts the successful compact-size implementation of ultrasound imaging. Thanks to improvements in the Micromachined Ultrasound Transducers (MUTs), the miniature ultrasound system can be integrated compatibly with front-end ASICs. Due to the low power system demand to avoid tissue damage and the shrinking of MUTs, there is a high demand for area- and power-efficient ultrasound ASICs.
