dc.description.abstract | The aim of the report was to understand the technique of Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) and to assess the feasibility for tumour diagnosis. According to the research, based on the elasticity properties of the tissue, conclusion can be made whether there is a presence of tumour. Several studies in breast, liver and brain were undertaken through phantoms, patients and healthy volunteers. For each of the study, different pulse sequence techniques are used. In breast cancer and brain tumour study, gradient echo sequence was used while spin echo sequence was used in liver fibrosis study. The results from three studies showed were in consistency with the operative results obtained from previous studies. Therefore, Magnetic Resonance Elastography proved to be an advantageous method in detecting tumour. | en_US |
