Abstract: A fundamental aspect of audio segmentation is classification. Classification refers to placing the audio signal (or portions of the audio signal) into particular categories. There is a broad range of categories or classifications that would be beneficial in audio segmentation, including music, speech, environment sound, and silence. For this particular project, we will focus on the aspect of music over the other variables.
