Abstract: This study presents the design, fabrication, and evaluation of ffexible tactile sensors integrated data glove for gesture recognition. The primary objective was to develop a comfortable, cost-effective wearable device capable of monitoring ffnger joint movements accurately. The data glove integrates ten ffexible sensors, each attached to a ffnger, to capture the nuances of hand gestures. Through a series of experiments, we collected data on static gestures and applied ffltering techniques to enhance the signal quality. The results demonstrated the potential of our ffexible sensor-based system in recognizing a range of gestures with reasonable accuracy. Despite the promising outcomes, the project faced challenges, including data noise due to the sensors’ sensitivity to minor movements and the limited diversity of the gesture dataset. Future work will focus on reffning sensor design for better conformity with ffnger joints, expanding the gesture library, and enhancing real-time gesture recognition capabilities. The study concludes that with further development, ffexible sensor technology holds signiffcant potential for applications in wearable computing and human-computer interaction.
