Abstract: Currently, China's food processing and manufacturing industry has been deeply engaged in reforms of the green manufacturing system, focusing on key aspects such as green factories, green parks, green supply chains, and green standards, aiding in the achievement of carbon neutrality and peak carbon goals. The food processing industry, closely related to people's livelihood, is inevitably trending towards green development. This dissertation selects Yili Dairy, a leading food processing enterprise with exemplary performance, as the case study object. First, based on reliable information sources such as Yili's sustainable development reports and official news media, the dissertation uses qualitative analysis to describe specific behaviors and projects in Yili's green supply chain practices from the perspectives of raw material, production and manufacturing, transportation, and consumption. Besides, based on the enterprise green development index system built by other scholars, this dissertation collects the relevant data of Yili from 2010 to 2023, and uses the entropy method to calculate the green development index of Yili enterprise. On this basis, a regression equation is constructed to explore the impact of the enterprise green supply chain development on enterprise performance. Finally, the study found that the biggest obstacle faced by dairy enterprises in their green supply chain management practices is the difficulty of unifying carbon emission accounting standards in the huge supply chain system; the implementation of green supply chain has a significant positive impact on enterprise performance, and the positive performance changes are more significant in the initial stage of basically establishing a complete green supply chain management system, while the marginal benefits of investing in green supply chain will be relatively lower after the enterprise's green management system is perfected. In view of these problems, the dissertation puts forward the following improvement suggestions: build a unified carbon accounting system; reduce green costs and improve overall performance; integrate business resources and optimize capital structure; to further optimize Yili Dairy's green supply chain management.
