Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/183894 | Project: | CCDS24-0264 | Abstract: | With the steady decrease in the attention span of the general population, concerns for health and task performance are underscored by studies by psychologists. People living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) particularly struggle with attention span due to symptoms related to inattention. Although common among children, many grow into adults undiagnosed and suffer significantly in work and personal relationships. This project presents the Neurofeedback Game: Unlock The Mind, which adopts a painless form of ADHD treatment called Neurofeedback Therapy. By applying basic game design principles, the game keeps players engaged with the neurofeedback system in place for attention training. Furthermore, a study on the effects of attention training was conducted using a well-defined step-by-step procedure shared in this report. This report shares the details of the implementation of the integration of neurofeedback elements into an action-based game, which future studies can improve upon. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/183894 | Schools: | College of Computing and Data Science | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
