Abstract: AI Copilots have revolutionized software development by generating code, offering suggestions, and improving productivity. Despite their potential, challenges like reliability, code clarity, and over-reliance hinder their adoption as educational tools. This paper explores the use of Copilots in competitive programming - an area demanding both precision and creativity - as a benchmark for evaluating their performance. By addressing shortcomings in existing evaluation methodologies, it proposes an improved framework to assess Copilots comprehensively. The findings aim to enhance Copilots’ reliability and integrate the most effective system into a tutoring app, offering guided problem-solving support for learners.
