Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184001 | Project: | CCDS24-0601 | Abstract: | In today’s fast-paced and dynamic world, lifelong learning has become essential for individuals to remain competitive and relevant in the workforce. Singapore’s initiatives, such as SkillsFuture, underscore this need by providing its citizens with various free and subsidised courses. Yet, despite these efforts, users often struggle to find suitable courses due to fragmented repositories, outdated user interfaces, and a lack of personalised guidance. Those seeking advanced or premium content face additional hurdles, with limited access to high-quality resources within a unified platform. This project introduces Journey, a Lifelong Learning Application designed to address these challenges. Acting as a centralised hub, Journey consolidates free courses from various platforms into one cohesive, searchable interface. To elevate the learning experience, the platform features an AI-powered recommendation engine that delivers personalised suggestions based on each user’s preferences, learning history, and goals. A conversational AI chatbot enhances navigation by offering real-time support and streamlined course discovery. Journey integrates paid NTU courses for users interested in advanced or premium content, expanding its offerings to suit learners across different learning phases. A secure payment system and flexible subscription model are built into the platform, enabling smooth transactions and unlocking benefits such as priority recommendations, exclusive content, and enhanced support. Built with modern technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and scalable cloud infrastructure, Journey delivers a seamless, intuitive, and feature-rich experience. By bridging critical gaps in today’s lifelong learning ecosystem, this application empowers individuals in their educational journeys and supports Singapore’s broader goal of cultivating a future-ready, knowledge-driven society. With its comprehensive design and innovative features, Journey sets a new benchmark for locally and globally lifelong learning platforms. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184001 | Schools: | College of Computing and Data Science | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
