Abstract: The monolithic PEAR web application was developed over the years to support person-centered care for dementia patients. However, as the codebase changed hands annually, maintaining it became increasingly challenging. This issue of code maintainability, along with scalability issues and the deprecation of .NET 5.0 has led to the decision to transition to a microservices architecture. This new approach breaks down the once monolithic system into specialized services, each addressing specific needs, and allows for improved scalability by enabling individual services to scale independently rather than the entire system. This report outlines the author's contributions to this migration, which include integrating the user and patient services into the frontend and implementing the geocode microservice. The author was also responsible for setting up one of the servers and deploying the frontend. Additionally, the reusable components and functions developed by the author streamlined the development process, facilitating faster feature integration. Key contributions include implementing login and logout functionality, photo uploads, patient information management, and various patient-related services such as allergy management, vital tracking, prescription management, doctor notes, social history tracking, mobility aid, and dementia diagnosis tracking.
