Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184082 | Project: | CCDS24-0223 | Abstract: | Fringe Projection Profilometry (FPP) is a widely used structured light technique for high accuracy, non-contact 3D surface measurement. It operates by projecting sinusoidal fringe patterns onto an object and capturing the deformed images to extract phase information. However, the retrieved phase data is inherently wrapped due to the periodic nature of sinusoidal signals, requiring a phase unwrapping process to reconstruct an accurate 3D surface. This report presents the development of a unified Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Fringe Projection Profilometry (FPP), designed to streamline phase wrapping and unwrapping processes and enhance 3D surface reconstruction accuracy. The system integrates multiple phase wrapping and unwrapping algorithms, including multi-frequency, multi-wavelength, and number-theoretical methods, allowing users to select the most suitable approach for their application. The GUI provides an intuitive interface for configuring unwrapping parameters, processing data, and visualizing results. This report also includes the findings from experiments conducted to analyse the performance of these unwrapping algorithms under various fringe period configurations. The results highlight the trade-offs between accuracy and computational efficiency, providing practical insights into the selection of optimal fringe period parameters. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184082 | Schools: | College of Computing and Data Science | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
