PeerEvalS: navigate group projects with feedback

Abstract

In academic settings, managing and evaluating student performance can be a daunting task, especially when dealing with large groups and complex assessment criteria. The challenge is further exacerbated by the need for timely feedback and the management of multiple evaluation tasks. This report introduces a peer evaluation tool designed to streamline and enhance the process of course and team management, rubrics creation, and student evaluation. The tool is a user friendly, web based platform that allows administrators to manage students, create and customise rubrics, and facilitate peer evaluations. The system features a user friendly interface, built with Express and EJS, ensuring smooth navigation and real time updates. The backend, powered by Node.js and MongoDB, enables efficient data storage and retrieval for seamless performance. One of the key features of the system is its ability to manage student enrollments and rubrics through CRUD operations, allowing instructors to add, edit, and remove students from courses, and create and modify rubrics and teams dynamically. This functionality significantly reduces the administrative burden, streamlining the workflow for both instructors and students. In conclusion, PeerEvalS enhances the efficiency, fairness, and usability of peer evaluations, providing a scalable and adaptable solution for academic assessment.
