Title: | Person-centred care for dementia patients (PEAR) back-end development (user service) | Authors: | Chin, Nathaniel Yi Xuan | Keywords: | Computer and Information Science | Issue Date: | 2025 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Chin, N. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184108 | Abstract: | The PEAR project transitioned from a monolithic architecture to a scalable microservices-based system, addressing critical limitations of the outdated monolithic .NET 5 infrastructure. This shift enabled better modularity, improved maintainability, and allowed each service to scale independently from each other. As part of this effort, I contributed to the development and optimisation of the User Service, a core component responsible for authentication and user management. My contributions included implementing caching strategies, rate limiting, and query optimisations to enhance performance and scalability. Additionally, I collaborated on developing core functionalities of the User Service such as creating CRUD operations for users and JWTbased authentication. This modernisation effort has laid the foundation for a scalable, high-performance system, allowing for faster development cycles and long-term sustainability | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184108 | Schools: | College of Computing and Data Science | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
