Abstract: In recent years, with the rapid development of power systems, switchgear, particularly gas-insulated switchgear, has been acting as the core component of power systems. Therefore, it is essential to build a comprehensive and effective model that can quantitatively assess the asset health condition of switchgear. This dissertation will initially evaluate the reliability of switchgear using two-parameters Weibull analysis, based on failure data and condition data collected from practical industrial operations. Subsequently, a weighted scoring model for the Asset Health Index will be developed. Then, the AHI will be integrated into the Weibull analysis to derive a more accurate reliability assessment model. Finally, the dissertation will review the entire process of the whole project, also discuss any potential improvement as well as future work for the project.
