Title: | Generation of a flat beam for atomic interferometry application | Authors: | Chow, Kai Xuan | Keywords: | Physics | Issue Date: | 2025 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Source: | Chow, K. Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184544 | Abstract: | In this final year project, the aim is to develop a theoretical understanding of the construction of a flat-top beam from a superposition of Laguerre-Gaussian beams. This then can be resonantly coupled into a fabry-perot cavity for future applications in experiments involving ultracold atoms particularly in the context of atomic interferometry application. Currently, multiple models exist to achieve a flat-top beam profile, here I propose a novel method involving a simple modal decomposition of Laguerre-Gaussian beams. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184544 | Schools: | School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
