Final Year Project (FYP), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184745 | Project: | CCDS24-0651 | Abstract: | Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) is an open-source, highly portable, microscopic, and continuous traffic simulation package designed to model large-scale road networks. This report aims to explores the capabilities of SUMO and evaluate various traffic light policies to assess their effectiveness in optimising traffic flow in Singapore. As a densely populated country with limited land space, having efficient traffic controls in place is essential to provide a smoother journey for everyone. SUMO offers a wide range of functionalities, including traffic rerouting to reduce congestion and dynamic traffic light adjustments to prioritize high-demand routes. This report reviews these built-in features, analysing their impact on traffic management and exploring how the findings can be applied to real-world urban mobility challenges. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/184745 | Schools: | College of Computing and Data Science School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences |
