Title: | Drunken moon. | Authors: | Qwah, Malcolm Ying Hwa. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Animation | Issue Date: | 2009 | Abstract: | Our final year project, titled Drunken Moon, is an approximately 6-minute fully animated short film. The film title is derived from a line in a Chinese poem, which means “drinking under the moonlight”, and this serves as the main inspiration for our story. Drunken mood is first thought out by the director, Raymond Teo. When the first draft of the story is set in stone, I am recruited to work on this project, mainly as a concept artist to help visualize the film. Following the pre-production phase, I shift to working on the production as a 3D modeler for the main characters, and subsequently as a compositor and post-production artist. We have currently completed an estimate of 2.5 minutes of the film, and it is due to the large amount of project coordination required (as we also outsource), strict art direction, and time taken for troubleshooting technical issues such as high-end rendering. However, our efforts have paid off with a preview to a high quality finish in the film. This is done so that it can inspire people’s confidence in our film, and to gather the critique for improvements and set the standard of quality we are aiming to have for upcoming competitions and film festivals. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/18750 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
