Abstract: Coach Transport is one of the major transportation ways to move commuters to the desired destination. With increasing emphasis on Information Technology, coach service providers (CSPs) have also started to make use of information systems (IS) in their day to day operations such as ticket ordering and inventory. Communications between industry players, as well as customers, are essential but most of such interactions today are limited to phone calls and faxes. Conventional information systems are platform-dependent, huge and expensive. The objective of this study is to design a SOA for Ticketing System that can be used in the coach service industry to enhance communication between service providers as well as the customers. This study argues that the SOA is suitable for use in designing services for the coach service industry which is distributed in nature.
