Abstract: This dissertation attempts to demonstrate the usefulness of using a dynamic mulation modeling software, Powersim, to generate the strategic project management control baseline for a large basement construction project. Large construction projects in Singapore are generally complex, fast-tracked and operate on tight budgets. Current project management techniques such as PERT Program Evaluation and Review Technique) and CPM (Critical Path Method) are relatively "static" and not very user-friendly for the monitoring, controlling, and assessing of the impacts of construction changes on project control baselines.
