A study of BOT and concession-based contracts

Abstract

The report of this research is to probe wider into the framework of existing BOT and concession-based contracts. Two cases of world renowned and controversial projects were put up and studied from the beginning till the current status of concession implementation. The two cases are the North South Expressway in Malaysia and the Channel Tunnel between Britain and France. The complilation of these two cases are based on the information that can be possibly gathered at this stage. The two cases are currently at the commencement period of concession operations and hence the sensitivities and confidentiality of data release are closely guarded.
