Map of sciences of the department of electrical and computer engineering, National University of Singapore

Abstract

To produce a map of sciences based on the department’s publications. Series of MDS diagram are created based on the bibliographic data of the publications. These MDS diagrams display the journals represented as dots and positioned according to their similarity of each other. The similarity data is calculated by the number of occurrences of two journals appeared together in one publication. The map of sciences shows four major clusters in the department’s publications: Physics (Multidisciplinary), Telecommunication, Automation & Control System, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering subjects.
