Environmental scanning and information sharing mechanisms of SMEs in Singapore

Abstract

This study investigated environmental scanning and information sharing mechanisms of SMEs in Singapore. The objectives included looking into the information needs of SMEs, the sources frequently utilized for their information acquisition and how the collected external environmental information was processed, stored, disseminated and used. Moreover, the policies and practices for information sharing were highlighted, with the purpose of finding out how the participating firms enhance internal information sharing.
