Abstract: The current second generation digital cellular technology, based either on the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)technique, has emerged as a result of an ever-increasing market demand for both capacity and quality. The requirements can no longer be coped with by the first generation analog cellular systems which use the Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA)technique.
