Predictive control methods have been widely accepted by the process industries. Recently, multirate control schemes have received considerable research interests and a state space multirate predictive controller has been proposed. The predominant design feature of this controller is the use of the deterministic least squares framework for the state estimator design. The state estimation horizon is introduced as a new tuning parameter in this formulation. Such an approach offers a natural extension to multirate control schemes in the predictive control framework.en_US
