Abstract: This dissertation describes the theoretical studies on a semiconductor laser whose frequency is directly modulated through the injection current and its conversion to ASK using a Fabry-Perot filter. Computer modeling techniques were used to accurately simulate the amplitude response and the frequency modulation response of the laser diode.
