dc.description.abstract | A wearable experimental digital hearing aid (WEDHA) using state-of-the-art electronic signal processing techniques has been designed and developed. It can also be programmed to function as an audiometer and hearing aid test equipment. The system includes a Motorola DSP56001 digital signal processor, A/D converter with antialiasing filter and D/A converter with reconstruction filter, hearing aid microphone and receiver, amplification circuits and serial communication circuit. An IBM compatible computer is used to fit the hearing aid and control the WEDHA when it functions as audiometer and hearing aid test equipment. WEDHA was evaluated on adult patients at the Singapore General Hospital. | en_US |
