Abstract: The computation time required to calculate the complex mathematical equations involved often has impeded the application of advanced control algorithms in real-time control. Parallel processing which distributes the computation among several processors logically is expected to reduce the total time required as compared to a single processor, thus enabling the possibility of meeting the stringent time constraint in real-time implementation of advanced control algorithms.
