Title: Development of adsorbent from waste materials for air pollution control
Authors: Lau, Dee Dee.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering::Control engineering
Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: This work involves studies on how to convert sewage sludge, a waste material generated in sewage treatment processes, into an adsorbent for odorous gas removal. The basic method of adsorbent preparation is by pyrolysis in nitrogen gas. Effects of heating temperature and residence time are investigated. Treatments such as drying in air at low temperature and soaking in chemicals (zinc chloride and sulfuric acid) prior to pyrolysis are attempted. Other factors such as heating rate, gas pressure and flow rate are kept constant.
