A high deformation process was adopted where conventional tumbling mixing was followed by cold isostatic pressing (CIP). The green compact was then hot pressed and hot extruded, at 530°C and 510°C respectively. Hot isostatic pressing (HIP) was employed as a post consolidation step for the extruded rods.
