dc.description.abstractAn expert system for the system monitoring, fault detection and diagnosis of a centralized air-conditioning system has been designed and developed using the G2 expert system shell. The system provides for a better control and energy utilization of the air-conditioning system. The expert system can function in both a simulated mode or in an on-line mode. The interface between the G2 knowledge base and the external data acquisition system required for the latter has been explored and confirmed.en_US
