Title: Analysis of natural part orientation for automated assembly
Authors: Lee, Stephen Siang Guan.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Manufacturing::Production management
Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: The objective of the research reported herein was to develop a computationally simple, yet effective method for computing the probability distributions of the natural resting aspects (or poses) of small engineering parts. Such a capability can enhance the design of part feeding and orienting devices such as vibratory bowls, whose efficiency depends on some fore-knowledge of the predominant natural resting poses of the parts.
