Abstract: International competitiveness is one of the most important issues affecting the economic well-being of nations today. Many countries have joined the battle of competitiveness. For example, both the United States and the European Community have established competitiveness council or competitiveness advisory group to address this issue. Other governments around the world, particularly the NICs, have embarked upon what now appears to be a crusade for competitiveness.
