Abstract

In USA, studies have shown that small firms contribute significantly to job creation and technology innovation. Venture capital plays a significant role in the start-up and subsequent growth of these small, innovative firms. In Singapore, the role of both the small firms and venture capital in fostering innovation is not clear as no empirical data has been collected.
